How Dangerous is Asbestos?
Working directly with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) can give personal exposures to airborne asbestos that are much higher than normal environmental levels. Repeated occupational exposures can give rise to a substantial cumulative exposure over time. This will increase the risk of developing an asbestos-related disease in the future.
All Asbestos Removal is planned & undertaken in accordance with HSE guidelines & the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Asbestos was a widely used material within commercial buildings, homes and machinery until 1999, when it was banned. This means that asbestos is common in the general environment.
Some asbestos removal tasks involving lower risk asbestos-containing materials do not require a licence. The level of exposure to asbestos from this type of work is not expected to present a significant risk to health, provided the correct precautions are taken. It is important to note that although removal of some products is classed as non-licensed asbestos removal, works must still be carried out by suitably trained and qualified asbestos operatives utilising the RPE & PPE.
Products which are usually considered non-licensed normally include asbestos cement, asbestos textured coatings, asbestos floor tiles, asbestos textiles and asbestos composites.
Whatever the risk levels, we offer a comprehensive range of specialist asbestos removal and management services in line with national health and safety standards and regulations.
